Carolyn G. Garcia is an author and illustrator who creates detailed, small scale works that are inspired by fairy tales and the natural world.
From picture books to chapter books, Carolyn loves children's literature and has taught art and presented story times to children and adults for many years.
One of Carolyn's favorite things to do is lie in the grass and look at the drama unfolding at bug level, where pebbles are boulders, grass blades great forests and water from the sprinkler an epic deluge. Patterns such as tree bark, the tiny hairs of a poppy stem, seed pods, animals and plant life are abundant in Carolyn's work.
Carolyn is a graduate of Pacific Northwest College of Art where she received a BFA for painting and drawing and has since shown her artwork in Portland, New Mexico, Texas and California. Carolyn currently shows at Guardino Gallery and lives in NE Portland with her husband Jay, dog Scout and cat Chester.
